Peer Review Process
Avicenna Journal of Science and Technology (AJST) applies a rigorous and transparent double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, validity, and academic integrity of all published manuscripts. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential.
1. Initial Editorial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team to assess their suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, completeness of submission requirements, and compliance with author guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected or returned to authors for revision before review.
2. Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, scientific contribution, clarity, and relevance.
3. Review Decision
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:
-
Accepted without revision
-
Accepted with minor revision
-
Accepted with major revision
-
Rejected
4. Revision Process
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ and editors’ comments and submit a revised version within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the reviewers if necessary.
5. Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting and publication.
AJST ensures that the peer review process is conducted objectively, fairly, and within a reasonable timeframe.
